Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 August 2026

This policy explains how Alteox S.à r.l. ("we", "us") processes personal data when you use signalmonitor.app (the "Service"), in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data controller

Alteox S.à r.l., 17 Rue Batty Weber, L-4346 Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. Contact: hello@alteox.com. See our Imprint for full company details.

2. What we collect

  • Account data — your name, email address and a hashed password, plus the organisation(s) you belong to.
  • Service data — the stream URLs you monitor, the worker locations you run, and the measurements they produce (buffer, bandwidth, errors and related metrics).
  • Technical data — a session cookie that keeps you signed in, server logs (including IP address) kept for security and troubleshooting, and, with your consent, analytics data (see cookies below).
  • Support data — the content of messages you send us, e.g. via the contact form or email.

3. Why we process it (legal bases)

  • To provide the Service and your account — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To keep the Service secure and functioning, and to answer support requests — our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • For analytics cookies — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Cookies, analytics & marketing

We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in; it requires no consent. We ask for your consent via a banner before setting any other cookie, and nothing below is loaded until you accept. You can decline, or change your choice at any time, by clearing the analytics choice stored in your browser.

  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) — helps us understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and processes usage data with IP anonymisation enabled. You can additionally opt out with Google's browser add-on.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) — lets us measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and reach people who have shown interest in the Service. It sets cookies and shares data with Meta about your visit (such as the pages you view and technical identifiers). Meta acts as a joint controller for this collection; you can manage your preferences in your Meta ad settings.

Both tools involve transfers of data to the United States; where that happens it is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the providers' certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis for both is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

5. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Measurement samples and events are retained for the periods configured for your deployment (by default around 30 and 90 days respectively) and then deleted. Free playground runs are deleted shortly after they finish.

6. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run the Service (e.g. hosting, analytics and advertising providers such as Google and Meta) under data-processing or joint-controller agreements as appropriate, or where required by law.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact hello@alteox.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg supervisory authority (CNPD, www.cnpd.lu) or your local authority.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
